Band Test coming up!

Hi all! As you guys already know, there is no practice till further notice due to the H1N1 crisis.

We feel that this period is the best time for everyone to train and get back to their basics so we're having a mini basic test when band resumes. Please practice hard!

What will be tested:

- 7 Basic Major Scales - Ab,Bb,C,D,Eb,F,G.

- 7 Basic Major Arpeggios - Ab,Bb,C,D,Eb,F,G.

- Chromatic Scales starting on any note.

- Basic Rhythm Test.

- Score Reading.

Also, there is Arts Fiesta rehearsals in the first week when school reopens!
Attendance is COMPULSORY! and we hope to achieve FULL ATTENDANCE!

Rehearsal days are on the TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY of the first week of school.

Meanwhile, PRACTICE HARD! REST WELL! DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

Our Section outing would be postponed too.

NYJC Concert and ..

Hey all! NYJC will be having a free concert in NJYC at 3pm, at LT4. No tickets required so just needa go there and watch! Go watch! Go support YUNHAN, Shuanyong and Jackson. :D

Alright, and, please start practicing concert F major (our G major) scale with tonguing. Please try to tongue as fast as you can, if possible up to 178 quavers okay? Also, continue trying out how to double tongue. Practice without instrument first, then when you think or feel you're stable enough, give a shot using your instrument. This very serious. So when you read this, don't just push it aside and pretend you practiced this homework. Really practice it. After self-practice alone, we may have to have one day for sectional to try this out together as a section so please do this homework. Also, don't leave your Whistle While You Work, Hawaii Five-O, Overture No.1&2 for Wind Band, Sinfonia Brevis and Tribute out. Do start practicing them. Mr Lim mentioned practicing the second movement of Sinfonia Brevis so do it. Also, try to remember whatever Mr Lin had taught us for those 2 sessions he had with us. Practice and complete Mr Lin's homework as well - Practice 20 Tune Ups until you can play it fast without mistakes. Okay, happy practicing see you'll soon.

Nice clarinet video

Hey there! All studying hard yeah? Keep studying! But don't forget to keep in touch with your instruments once in a while! Practice your etudes and SBT! Don't forget your pieces! Don't study too much also! Poor Jane must take some time out to relax and play also:D Later kena exam stress.
